My name is Andrey (pronounced as On-Dree, like Laundry without the L) Chan. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii with my husband, 2 cats, 6 dogs, 4 chickens, 3 turtles, a bunch of fish, and a small herd of farm animals.
Since earning my M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration) degree back in the 80’s, I had been a business practitioner in the private sector for over 25 years. Throughout my business career, I gained hands-on experience in the banking, retail, food & beverage, tourism, agriculture, export and investment industries; and was charged with management responsibilities in administration, human resources, finance and marketing. During this “first-act” of my career, I also had the opportunity to travel extensively to interface with our international divisions.
Education is my “second-act” that started after my 2 daughters left home for college some 12 years ago. I was intrigued by the interaction with college students & the challenges of the academic world and continue to be with renewed interest at the start of every semester.
I enjoy eating, but unfortunately possess zero culinary skill. So, if you are in the “neighborhood” and have any goodies that you need someone to sample, please feel free to drop me a note!
